Simply put, the VFW strives to do good things for deserving people; particularly veterans, their families, and their communities. From local grassroots ideas to national influence, we work every day to make a difference. It's our strength as an organization. And, with each individual membership, we only grow stronger.

Eligibility

The fundamental difference between our organization and other veterans organizations and one in which we take great pride in our eligibility qualifications. VFW welcomes all who meet our eligibility criteria. It's through service to this country that all our membership has earned their elite status.

If you have received a campaign medal for overseas service; have served 30 consecutive or 60 non-consecutive days in Korea; or have ever received hostile fire or imminent danger pay, then you're eligible to join our ranks.

Membership Types

Your membership dues will support the VFW's mission to serve and represent our veterans at the local, state, and national level.

• Annual Membership

Your dues of just $38.00 will cover the cost of your membership for 1 calendar year. ($1.98 of your membership dues goes toward your VFW magazine subscription.)

• Life Membership

Show your support to service members, veterans and their families by becoming a VFW Life Member. An easy, one-time payment solidifies your membership for life, or take advantage of our convenient installment plan.

Age Rates

• Ages 18-30 $425 or $45 initial payment and 11 payments of $38.64

• Ages 31-40 $410 or $45 initial payment and 11 payments of $37.27

• Ages 41-50 $375 or $45 initial payment and 11 payments of $34.09

• Ages 51-60 $335 or $45 initial payment and 11 payments of $30.45

• Ages 61-70 $290 or $45 initial payment and 11 payments of $26.36

• Ages 71-80 $225 or $45 initial payment and 11 payments of $20.45

• Ages 81+ $170 or $45 initial payment and 11 payments of $15.45

 

• Legacy Life Membership

When you become a Legacy Life Member, you are helping us strengthen the VFW. Future generations will know and remember you for the sacrifices you made during your time in uniform in addition to the contributions you made as a VFW Legacy Life Member. Each level offers generous benefits reserved exclusively for members of this status.
